Collages and constructions assembled
especially for the camera, or more recently the scanner and computer comprise
this body of work representing on-going investigations in color photography.
Utilizing manipulations of size, scale, and juxtaposition, the work builds
upon earlier ideas explored with color copy machines in the 1970's and '80's.
At least two millenia of art history are
the source for representations of male and female figures, now repositioned
with the intent to comment on traditional and contemporary societal expectations
of gender relationships, and served up with a touch of irony, whimsy, and
poetic vision.
